What led you to PLUSnxt?

I started with PLUSnxt before the big rebrand in 2020. I was working part-time with the company as a creative consultant, which was my first introduction to the lit support industry and specifically eDiscovery. 2021 was a big year for PLUS and with that came the decision to bring someone on full time to build the brand and marketing department.

I started as PLUS’ Creative Director in the fall of 2021 and started pushing the brand and company to nail down who we wanted to be within an industry that, I personally felt, lacked character. We started from the ground up and it was an exciting opportunity to do something different within the saturated market.

What is your role within PLUSnxt?

My title is Creative Director; I am the one who develops the company’s brand as a whole and all the other intricacies within the brand.  I offer my own expertise as an “outsider” to lit support, but also take into consideration the goals of our leadership and the rest of the industry veterans on our team to create our messaging.

Because we are a growing company, I have my hands in a lot of different pots. The leadership team has entrusted me to represent PLUS.  They give me lots of autonomy to do my job, which I appreciate as a professional creative.

Where do you see PLUSnxt going?

The talent we’ve brought on board this past year is next level, there’s a noticeable difference in energy as we continue to grow. Everyone has bought into the idea that we want to change up the industry. Introducing Accelerator and Fusion was a huge part of that, both of which take a new approach at solving our clients’ problems. I am excited to see our team lean into our messaging and implement it into their day-to-day operations.

As the creative director, you can throw catchy phrases out all day long but if your team isn’t living up to the message then it’s pointless. It’s all beginning to align and we are setting our own pace.

What is your ideal relationship with clients?

I am not client facing per say, but since everything I create is client facing, my main goal is to let clients know that PLUS cares; we see and understand their issues.  If we don’t understand, then we are open to being enlightened and taught. It is important to me that the rest of the team interacts with clients in a way that aligns with our messaging. We personalize your eDiscovery experience and I want us to live and breathe that and for our clients to feel it.

What do you do for fun? What is something people couldn’t learn about you from your LinkedIn profile?

Working with my hands and flexing my creativity bring me joy. I draw, paint, sew, but above all else I really love cooking and creating floral arrangements. I appreciate the sense of community that happens around the table and in the kitchen. Food is a central part of how I connect in my home and with my family, especially as a Latina. Cooking is my creative outlet when I am too busy to do anything else. With floral arrangements, I love taking nature's beauty and manipulating it with intention to create works of art. It’s an activity that truly allows me to go into a flow state.
