Nathan Cummings, Senior Project Manager

Nate comes from a litigation background and began his career within eDiscovery in 2011 as a document reviewer. His exceptional performance during a review project paved the way for him to step into a team lead role, showcasing his leadership capabilities. This stint as a leader led to his recruitment as the Relativity Support specialist. As time progressed, his role evolved into eDiscovery Project Management, with a significant focus on consulting. Nate's fervent dedication to educating clients on enhancing their eDiscovery methodologies positions him perfectly within PLUSnxt.

What led you to PLUSnxt?

While in my previous PM role I was looking for a place of work that would reignite my passion for growing the industry. I had previous experience working with COO, Gary Bendel, and was intrigued as soon as I heard about the Accelerator program that PLUS was building out. There was significant emphasis on educating clients, more specifically SMB firms, to become more autonomous and knowledgeable of the eDiscovery process. eDiscovery is rarely covered in law school and yet having an understanding of it is vital to any litigator, so the focus on instructing is work that I am passionate about.

What is your role within PLUSnxt?

I am a senior PM and oversee and manage projects from start to finish. On the front end I am involved in the collection, ingesting, and processing of data, where I focus heavily on implementing workflows to reduce the data to a reasonable size in order to cut costs for our clients. And on the back end, I consult with our clients during document review, document production, and project wrap-up. So, it really is end-to-end involvement in the eDiscovery process.

Where do you see PLUSnxt going?

I think we are headed in a good direction. I truly believe the Accelerator program is the way to success for both PLUS and our clients. We’ve built out a very strong offering that allows us to play a significant role in our clients’ eDiscovery growth and establishing their eDiscovery processes and procedures. We are putting the control back in their hands, and of course, we are there to support them with both our training programs and our industry expertise.

What is your ideal relationship with clients?

I value a growth-based relationship. We want to teach them and ideally, they come to us ready to learn. Having our clients be open to learning and improving on how they can take control of their eDiscovery process is idyllic for me.

What do you do for fun? What is something people couldn’t learn about you from your LinkedIn profile?

I love music. I enjoy listening to a wide variety of genres, but focus on indie, folk and classic rock for live performances. I write, record, and play music live on the guitar, drums and vocals.
